About High Holiday Child Care
We charge a fee and require pre-registration for child care on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.
Here is what we provide:
- Full-time child care from beginning to end of all daytime minyanim and Kol Nidrei/Maariv on Yom Kippur.
- Supervision is provided by professional nannies and teachers. All have undergone extensive screening and background checks, and are licensed, insured, and certified in CPR and First Aid.
- Strict maximum 4 to 1 babysitter-child ratio for children under 3. Minimum two adults per room for children 3 to 6. Minimum one adult per room, plus one supervisor in the hall for children 6 and up. (These are minimum supervision numbers; more adults will be added as needed.)
- Healthy snacks are provided on all days.
- Lunch is served on Yom Kippur.
- Tefilah, Torah learning, and circle time provided by our own YIH Group Leaders on all days.
- Professionally conducted Martial Arts programs for children 3 and up.
Costs & Registration Info
- Pre-registration is required for High Holiday youth programs and babysitting.
- Register at the bottom of this page.
- The cost for child care is $59 per child for Rosh Hashanah; $49 per child for Yom Kippur.
- Space permitting, unregistered children will be admitted; your account will be billed $70 per child for Rosh Hashanah; $60 for Yom Kippur.
Child Care Schedule
- Rosh Hashana, both days: 8am to 1pm
- Yom Kippur night (Kol Nidre): 6:30pm-9:30pm
- Yom Kippur day: 9am-3pm
General Guidelines
- Please, no sick children are allowed
- Upon arrival, please check in and introduce yourself and your child(ren) to the child care providers.
- Please check on your children periodically
- Children will be released TO PARENTS ONLY
- No food, small toys, candy, etc. may be brought in.
